Peta Teanet
Peta Teanet (June 1966 - 13, July 1996) was a South African disco musician of Tsonga descent.
He was born in South Africa lived at Thapane village, in Bolobedu south at Ga-Modjadji. He attended high school at Kgwekgwe High Moleketla Bolobedu . He became fluent in Shona and Swahili also had a couple of songs he sang in Shona and Swahili also for his productions. 1987 Peta recorded a demo of Gospel songs which was played on Radio Tsonga. The radio Dj Mr Royi- Royi Ngobeni said he must turned Gospel to Disco. His debut album, Maxaka (we are relatives) was recorded in 1988 after the influenced Disco patri·archy Paul Ndlovu and it was produced by Leffy Rikotso who was a former band of Paul Ndlovu. PETA TEANET ( Teanet is his nickname because he loved instruments). His real name is Ngobeni Ntahleng Peta . His mom 's real name is Emma Peta and known as Emma Teanet because she was a musician as well . After success of Maxaka in 1988, Teanet released more albums for him and also for his productions.
Peta Teanet worked and recorded the Soul Lovers (Noah Khosa, Warra Khosa, Chris Mkhonto aka General Musca. & Riot Hlantswayo as a journalist). He also worked with Kanda Bongoman the released a song called (Tikakolela ximamani u nga rili). And The likes of Candy Nwayingwane Tsamandebele, Nurse Matlala and Sunglen. in 1992 when released his album "Saka na jive" Peta Teanet asked a rendition of Papa part 2 which is a sampled of Sello Chicco Twala "Hisarisile" with an agreement. Teanet was a good friend of Dan "Splash" Tshanda who a disco - Boss.

In 1996 Peta had an argument with an off duty policeman, He shot him on a heart, he was rushed to Tintswalo Hospital in Acornhoek Bushbuckridge and is where he succumbed to his injuries and died. The voice of Vatsonga and Bolobedu was silenced at Acornhoek Bushbuckridge. THE Greater Tzaneen name a ward called it Peta Teanet ward. Also a Street in Diepsloot was name after Peta Teanet.
